Woodjock--A Major League JamFest
Rock stars want to be athletes…and athletes want to be rock stars.
Just as the Woodstock festival in 1969 was a historical musical moment, the inaugural Woodjock aims to be a first in music and sports history.
In the midst of the Cactus League season, musical talent from the baseball world will be highlighted on the stage. Headlined by White Sox ace Jake Peavy, ten athletes and their celebrity friends will pick up their instruments and showcase their major-league flair on a new field…a music jamfest.
The Venue in Old Town Scottsdale will host the event at 7pm on March 11, 2010 with only 1,200 tickets available for sale (general admission and VIP). In addition to the celebrity participants on stage, many players from the Cactus League teams will be in attendance to support their fellow big-leaguers.
The athletes, artists and celebrities invited to join Jake on stage share a mix of music genres and include: Barry Zito, Bernie Williams, Bronson Arroyo, Scott Linebrink, Peter Gammons, Tim McCarver, Tim Flannery, Joe West, and more.
All proceeds will go to the Jake Peavy Foundation to support charities such as Strike Out for Troops, Autism Speaks, and Team Focus as well as other White Sox Foundations.
This is a 21 and over event.
